Resistance is not stillness. It is not polite. It is a movement, a fracture, an insistence of a living language spoken through bodies, wrestling.
Coming into the Aftermath we are not asking you to view each work present as isolated and detached from the others, but instead to view them together, and view yourself in it, in the chaos, the conflicts, and the contradictions.
We’re gesturing towards an attempt at making, writing, and thinking Together. Centering genuine dialogue both behind the scenes and under the glaring heat of the spotlight… Not interested in making art detached from its context, too preoccupied with its own aesthetics to engage in politics, too scared of dealing with our tears, fears, desires, and anger. We find that untruthful and deeply boring.
This work emerges in the aftermath of the past two years of protests against the genocide in Palestine: a response shaped by grief and defiance, by the urgency of resisting erasure and reckoning with a mediated experience of violence.
The exhibition is not a neutral frame. It is a contested ground, a site of struggle. We reject the passivity of display and instead claim the space as unstable, insurgent, alive. Scenographic. Sonic. Archival. Collaborative. These are not categories but tools, strategies, ways of holding each other accountable. Within the exhibition, we resist finality. We refuse to conclude. We ask for risk, for rage, for joy, togetherness, and regeneration.
